Leaders Distance God’s Love For Gays

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”  Romans 5:8

How is it possible for God’s chosen who have vowed to serve Him and show His love to EVERY sinner to continue to shun “this kind of sinner?”  1 Corinthians 6:9-11 tells us of the inclusive assortment of sinners who experience redemption and are welcomed in the kingdom of Heaven.  What love our dear Savior has to extend salvation to those who were born lost and confused. He redeems them. But who is it He deemed responsibility for sharing this crucial and heart felt information?

I always thought that a love of God’s Word and His truth and a love for ALL his children was what drove a convicted believer into ministry. Being raised on God’s love and in a Christ centered church, I thought this love would extend to me. I was so lost and confused. I was hurting. I had desires that I couldn’t understand and no spiritual guidance on the subject of homosexuality other than it is sin and you need to “stop it!”

There wasn’t a tender voice calling me home to the church and to Christ. Only distancing and those watching and waiting for God to reach me on His own as though I would one day wake up and realize my sickness and God’s conviction to return to the fold.  No outreach, no representation of God’s deep and forgiving love from a pastor or church elder.  No relational effort to convey God’s saving grace and power of healing which seemed to be extended for all other kinds of sin.

What’s missing? Why the isolation? Is this stuff catchy? Is it not important to deeply explore the deceptive feelings and misdirection of focus in a soul; whether young or old?  Why the fear factor over wrapping your arms around love hungry child of God?  Doesn’t God give confirmation of the reaching of any sin wrenched victim?

What about Paul?  What about Mary Magdalene, the demoniac, the Prodigal son  and many others?  Jesus gave tender and loving attention to those that were seemingly the least desirable.  Why do we fail at this? Why are we afraid to get our hands dirty? Why are we afraid to share Hope to the one deepest in need?

Proverbs 11:3 says that he that winneth souls is wise.

The bible tells of all the unlikely places that Jesus ministered and asked us to do likewise.

Is it any wonder that those ostracized from God’s family have fallen victim to their feelings of the need for love … even if it is Satan’s counterfeit love?  Such a power and strength in self-indulgence permiates society and is gaining ground rapidly.

Precious few have been convicted by an enlightenment by the Holy Spirit to return to the one who offers love, healing and eternal life. We are standing like palm trees in a hurricane of alienation; but with our roots running deep into the Word of Jesus and clinging to the cross.  We are considered misfits of skepticism by those who can’t seem to grasp that  … yes… God reached even us… and now… what do they do with us? And we are taunted as traitors by those seeking smooth sailing in a sea of deception.

How is Jesus going to reach these lost souls without the loving arms of church communities. No…not arms that say… “Oh come here… worship with us …we’re all sinners.” … and then ignore their blatant disregard of God’s Word.   No!  Loving arms and hearts that represent the character of Jesus Christ. Providing knowledge and healing opportunities. Begging for a decision to let Jesus take over in their lives and let the Holy Spirit convict their hearts with a desire for truth and the seeking of forgiveness.    WHERE ARE THESE SOLDIERS OF CHRIST?  Do they really believe that without compassion and fully embracing even this sinner that our dear Lord is pleased?

And why do those who haven’t known how to love, fear the sinner that has returned; full of truth, knowledge and experience ready to aid the church. I have had promises extended and rescinded by church leaders.  Seemingly in fear that there is some false doctrine being promoted … or that my conversion is not real. And a host of other reasons Satan would use to maintain a distance so that one might be won back to Him.

“Even now,” declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.” Joel 2:12

My dear brothers and sister in Christ… let the Holy Spirit speak to you and move upon you to insist that your pastors seek God’s guidance and compel them to call upon a redeemed “New Creation” who has returned to our powerful, loving and healing Savior.

Our identity in Jesus Christ is not a sexual identity, but a rescuing from a sexual identity that implores us to submit our will to Him and abide in Him for preservation and safety.

Dear pastor or church leader… I call upon you to commune with God. Don’t limit Him. Don’t limit what He can do through you.  Philippians 4:13 says  that we can do all things through Christ. Give this burdened to Him and let Him lead you. Extend His offer of salvation to the repulsive and disgusting. We were all lost souls until we humbly accepted Him and cried out for His will to be done in us.

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”  2 Chronicles 7:14

Please don’t wait to extend God’s love and forgiveness to all who seek Him. I’m tired of this battle.  I want to go home… don’t you?

Please contact me if God is touching your heart with His tenderness and reveals to you that His love is for EVERY sinner. There is no fear of one whom speaks according to the Word of our heavenly father.
