Feelings VS Reality

Posted by on December 24, 2010

Feelings lay a huge trap for us sometimes. That is why we cannot use our feelings as a primary guide or ruler. God has commissioned me to share His truth… REALITY if you will.  What’s my commission? Eternal life with my creator in a sinless heaven being prepared for me while I go about my father’s work.

No matter how you paint the gospel; no matter how amazing and wondrous the promises of God’s Word are; the truth is that we are going to encounter difficult times while we are living on this earth.

Jesus may pluck you out of any one of a huge array of sinful lifestyles. He puts a vivid image in your mind of what has been won for you by the perfect life He lived, that you can claim through Him. Not our perfection, but His. Determined faith has a huge pay off. Believing brings about a total transformation from the sinful lives we are part of here on this earth.

Many are seeking and can only be persuaded by that silver lining approach. Jesus wants us to know that because of the decision Satan made to challenge Jesus, we are subject to temptations and desires that would smother the truth of Jesus Christ, had it not been for our ability to see through these deceptive feelings because of Jesus Christ.

Any man who recognizes that he was not born with a natural attraction to the opposite sex, can provide you with an overwhelming account of loneliness. This is only one of many tools Satan will use to try and persuade us to turn our back on truth. He used this with Jesus Christ Himself. No one will know the ultimate loneliness that Jesus suffered. Throughout that loneliness He had to trust His Father. He had to believe in what He was commissioned to do for all of mankind.

Many are not willing to come apart from the world and walk this walk of faith that is not based on pleasant and good feelings.  Faith is a requirement of walking in the midst of feelings of loneliness and despair and knowing that they are a lie being superimposed upon us by Satan.

This lonely walk is in the midst of those appearing to have perfect loving relationships which are in accordance with God’s Word. But a realistic look at any relationship between two people will reveal that there is not eternal bliss there. There is often a co relationship or leaning on one another. The same-sex attracted individual is called to lean on God.  We are all called to prove to Satan that no matter what our cross is to bear, it can indeed be borne as long as we cling to Jesus and let Him carry us through.

Jesus calls each of us to recognize and believe in truth, rather than the deception presented to us. Even a deception that began at birth. We were all born with a sinful nature. As Jesus reveals truth to us, we are then held responsible for our decisions based on what we know because of Him. Rejecting His truth seals our decision for whom we choose to serve.

My life began with the rejection of my natural mother. It only makes sense that I have sought an intimate love resulting in acceptance and a sense of belonging. No one on earth could provide the level of belonging that is promised and evident through Jesus Christ.

The sacrifice of worldly entrapment and seduction is obliterated by the blood that Jesus Christ shed for you and me. Contemplate, meditate, believe and know that He loves you more than you can imagine. His love is pure. He has no selfish motives. He only wants you to fully trust and obey Him.

We are at the end of this world’s existence. God has let Satan tempt, snare and lie to people for more than six thousand years. In all that time, there have always been those who trusted and believed in the salvation of their redeemer. Faith has prevailed through all ages. Don’t let Satan be the ruler of your soul.

Plea:    “Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted.”  Psalm 25:16

Promise:  “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9
