Inevitable

Well … I knew it would happen. The hate mail has materialized. Well .. maybe “hate” is too strong of a word so far. I’m being compared to Colin Cook, but Colin Cook took a nose dive in his ministry.  It’s sad how people make the comparison.

In these pieces of mail, the writers feel justified in living a life according to self instead of how God instructs us to live. They insinuate that one should be a Gay Adventist, identifying as such without a need for change in gay lifestyle behavior.

These emails and opinions of many, such as SDA Kinship, always promote self, how we are naturally, and indulging in whatever feels right. Never do they speak of their personal and close relationship with Jesus Christ. I find this very discomforting. The impression I receive is that they want to belong to an organization, even if how they personally choose to live is not in alignment with the basic beliefs of that organization. What is it that makes them want to belong to something that does not condone their lifestyle?

I pray that in the desire to belong, prayers will be sent up by such individuals with a request that God will open up His truth to them and that their hearts will be won and that any changes made in their lives will be the result of  The Holy Spirit working in their lives.

In some ways I welcome the hate mail, because it grounds me in the truth God has made clear to me as a result of my search.

Psalms 18:30 says:  “As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him.”
