Falling In Love

Posted by on December 28, 2013  |  No Comments

A certain sparkle in the eyes. Feeling like you are all that matters. Joy and compassion mixed together. A shiver goes through you that seems to confirm… you are front and center. As you gaze into the eyes of another, it’s as though they already know everything about you and … it just doesn’t matter. You’re still the object of their affection.

Letters, cards, notes, reminders all begin to be exchanged confirming the specialness of a relationship. Communication. Relationship. To that special someone… you are like no other. As you become fonder of each other you do more and more things for each other. You even make sacrifices and changes because that special someone in your life is sooo worth it. You know you are loved. And because of this you want to love even more in return.

You plan special surprises. You get so familiar with your new love that you go out of your way to make sure they know they are the sole focus of your attentions. There is no other like them on the face of the earth.

“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5

Have you lost sight of your purpose, your beginnings and … the end? We are all here with the most powerful handbook that can be provided. We are the most incredible organism on the planet. We aren’t here simply by chance, but because the lover of all time chose us to be part of the Greatest Story Ever Told.

He has plans for us like no other. He has riches and gifts that will exceed any earthly desire or craving. He will author changing attributes that will help us function at top performance in bringing joy to the lives of others as well as inspire and motivate us to glorify Him. He invites us to engage with Him. Get to know Him. Court Him. Dialog with Him. And as we journey with Him… we find that we are falling in love with Him.

As a result of this love and getting acquainted with His Character, we begin to recognize that there are certain things that He really doesn’t like or that displease Him. And because the love relationship is developing, we no longer want those things in our lives that make Him unhappy. We want to live to please Him.

He keeps pouring out blessing after blessing as we walk with Him. He makes it clear that no other love could out love His love. He is AMAZING! But while all life, beauty and love belong to Him, He has a rival.

The rival is crafty and clever and wants desperately to draw the attention away from the author of life itself. He wants your allegiance. He will do anything to deceive you into thinking, he has a better plan. He wants to make you think that his gifts feel better, taste better, last longer, and are more powerful. He will use all of your senses to try and convince you that his way is best. Underlying all of the fluff and sensation, he will stab you in the back. He will laugh when you fall. He takes delight in seeing you in pain and anguish as a result of the ploy of his deception. He will kill you while he is smiling at you.

Life….breath… it’s such a precious gift. It can last forever if you follow the divine plan. It has requirements for its life-time guaranty. Are they too much? Are the ridiculous and outrageous? If you’re listening only to the rival of this life-giver, you will likely think so.

This life-time guarantee is unlike any other. You can trash this life. Abuse it, act like a heretic or traitor, and the owner will still restore it to better than new. He loves you and has had a plan for you. He waits for you. You see, while you are feeding yourself with deceit and listening to the lies of the rival, you can’t hear the Creator and lover of your life. But that doesn’t stop Him from calling you.

Many times the rival dumps you and slams you up against a wall. He accuses you. He belittles you. He imposes a sense of worthlessness on you counting on your blindness to see anything or anyone else.

Oh my dear friend…listen to the faint voice of hope and redemption. He never gives up on you. Even while you spit at Him and blamed Him for what the rival has done, His love runs deeper. In your helplessness, shame and guilt, He stretches out both arms across an old cut down tree planted firmly atop a mountain. For you … piercing spikes have been driven through His hands as blood pours down. His feet are crossed and attached by yet another spike that is pounded through them to secure Him on the tree. His side is pierced. Blood and water pour out as He hangs there thirsting for water.

Above all in this state of pain, exasperation and imminent death… you are on His mind. Your choices, your rejection, self-absorption drove those spikes through His flesh. In His weakened state He simply cries out to you… “You are forgiven… for you do not know what you have done.”

Are you shattered by your lack of thankfulness? Are you broken and desperate? Is your heart breaking because you see how you have deeply disappointed the one who gave you life?

Do you know what is so amazing about this unimaginable act of love? It is on your behalf. Right now… today… you can begin loving the author of your life. Crucify self and let the blood of Jesus wash you. It pours over you and cleanses you. It is victory purchased to give you this right to claim forgiveness and eternal life with your Father who wants nothing more than for you to come home with Him.

There will be nothing that is too much to give up for this eternal relationship of pure love. He has granted you a new start and has given you this opportunity to be a “New Creation” in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:17.

I have experienced the depths of great pain, sometimes as a result of my own decisions and allowance of the rival to mislead me. But one day I met my Savior and He shared with me, what I am sharing with you. He asked me for an intimate relationship that is life-sustaining. I love Him so much and I wanted to share this love with you. There is none like it on this earth. It simply requires letting go of self. Please listen for that small voice that asks you to surrender. Please let your answer be “Yes Lord.”

Will You Stand….With Your “Redeemer?”

Posted by on December 21, 2013  |  No Comments

Recent events in society as well as conversations inside Christianity have brought about a great deal of contemplation lately.  I have arrived at this conclusion. Christianity is not for the faint of heart.

Why was Lucifer cast out of heaven?  Why was Cain’s offering unacceptable to God?  Why are people who voice their belief in God and His plan ridiculed by those who choose to do their own will outside of God’s plan? Why is it considered “hate” to disapprove of gay marriage when the institution of marriage stems from God’s Word and His plan? Why are gays doing the very thing they accuse the religious right of doing, but not being held accountable for hating or discriminating against someone’s personal belief?  If there is justice, wouldn’t someone being outspoken against someone with a Biblical conviction be held accountable for their “hate” speech?

What do you know about God, and what is your relationship with Him?

I have found that the comments being made about gay marriage, gay rights, Phil Robertson (Duck Dynasty), “God’s love,” seem directly related to our understanding of God and His Word … and quite possibly how much someone has immersed themselves in His Word and an intimate relationship with Him.

The reason that Christians were heinously persecuted is becoming increasingly apparent as current day civil rights and beliefs crowd out the presence of Jesus and His believers in this world.

The very thing civil rights activists are accusing Christians of, is being vividly demonstrated in their hateful comments and behaviors.  Now I’m not naïve enough to believe that any organization with the Word “Christian” associated with it is behaving “lovingly” towards those they disagree with. Take for instance Westboro Baptist Church.  I would be hard pressed to find a single individual who used to be gay testifying to the fact that they were brought to Christ by the “God Hates Fags” signs.  If we dive into God’s Word, we don’t find any such example that signifies that we should witness of Christ in this way.

However God’s advice is precisely revealed.  He has warned us of the self-absorbed creature who once protected His throne.  He has given us the clear story of His demise and dangerous associations who he influenced to take with him as he was cast out of heaven.  He then made it part of everything he does to deceive those who God would claim as His own.  There is no way we are able to recognize the enemy at work unless we are close by God’s side and absorbing the knowledge He provides all who seek Him. 1 Peter 4:1, 2 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.

As a study of His Word, God clearly points out the end time issues. He warns us how important it is to abide in Him and be continually surrendered to Him.  Many evil things that have the “appearances” of good are taking place and working to deceive whoever is not buried in God’s wings of righteousness. His righteousness, not ours.  We have a choice about whether we will accept His righteousness into our lives.  In their current worldly state of mind, many are not doing anything  because they believe that if God really loves them, He’ll do everything for them.

God is not a God of force. While we each arrive with a “fallen nature,” He has fairly offered every one of us to acquaint ourselves with Him so that we might know His will. Some simply say … God is love and I love God and … well they’re good with that, but they have no sincere knowledge of God because they have not sought Him. This was such an eye opening revelation to me when I contemplated my life before God.   We are in dangerous territory without knowing what is of God and what is not. And it is this weakness that the enemy is aware of and at the ready to devour us.

At present, if were in the presence of God’s pure love it would kill us. We are drenched in the sinfulness of this world. Few have made room in their lives for as much space as Jesus Christ seeks to claim. He doesn’t want just part of us or some of our time.  He wants ALL of us.  He wants us to clearly know what He approves and disapproves of and to know exactly why.

He doesn’t covertly seek someone’s redemption and dedication to Him. He is in the business of changing lives upon a clear, definite invitation.

A far cry away from popular belief, Jesus does not endorse sin. He does not cover sin. He makes no excuse for sin. And He promises that His mind and His character can be in you. 1 Corinthians 2:16 16 For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?”But we have the mind of Christ.

This is a conscious decision and won’t take place without our cooperation.  Satan is sly and coy and uses many angles to reach those who would not be easily persuaded. He doesn’t use angles and ways that we would detest.  Otherwise how would it be that sin would be a temptation?  But at times he is blatant and to his followers he persuades them to be bold in the declarations of their deceptions.

God never seeks to deceive us or mislead us. His Word clearly points out in every reference to homosexuality, that this is not pleasing to Him and not part of His design or His will for us.  Now He didn’t tell us that our “feelings” wouldn’t cry out for such things. But He does warn us of Satan’s tactics. Feelings do not always equal truth. What more effective way would Satan have to reach us if it were not through the impulses and impressions of our feelings?  God tells us.. “The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?” Jeremiah 17:9

I experience a lifetime of deception and believed the lies of the enemy of heaven. Yet God knew my heart was still softened to His call.  He knew that if I gave Him the time and communicated with Him and sought Him, I would not only allow, but invite Him to reveal Himself to me.  In our belief, our walk and relationship with Him, He tells us this; “ Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31

What are we doing to draw closer to Christ?  Many are delving into explanations and meanings of God’s Word that are not in agreement. Excuses to sin. Excuses to indulge self. Excuses to bring a different offering to God than that of which He asked for.  Seeking to do things our way instead of His way.

True honor and love of God is coming in agreement with Him. Falling in love with Him and obeying Him. Denying self and world pleasures and living for Christ, His truth and “HIS” love. There are cheap “knock offs” of God’s love today. They claim to be like the real thing. But there’s a nasty hook. While they have the appearances of “love,” they are laced with strychnine. They don’t honor and glorify God at all. Satan wants those who are skeptical to see “pure love” as hatred. He wants you to believe in his counterfeit. You have a choice.  His guide to us says… Choose ye this day who ye will serve… and let it be the Lord.

If heaven is representative of God and is alive with all the statutes and declarations found in His Word… and you disagree with them or don’t find them pleasing or pleasurable, why would you want to be in heaven?

We have been marred with sin. We are damaged. The GREAT PHYSICIAN is offering us healing and a place next to Him.  STOP… be silent… consider your destiny…be honest with yourself and your Creator. In humility before Him, surrender and give your past to Him and invite Him to make you a “New Creature” in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:17
